We offer Play Group, Part Time programme and Full Time programme for families with various age of children.
The Play Group is parent accompanied and is suitable for children between 10-24 months.
The part-time programs are available for children aged 18 months to three years of age. Families can choose to send their child two or three days a week for either a half or full day.
The programme has been specifically designed for families who would like their child to attend pre-school but do not wish their child to attend full days. Our staff expose children to a variety of learning experiences while introducing to them the expectations and culture of pre-school. Children in this programme will have exposure to similar opportunities to those who attend full time.
The schedule will be as follows:
Three day program: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. The three day program will also include a music and movement class on Wednesday with our music specialist.
Two day programme: Thursday, Friday
We have designed the programmes to be consistent days to enable continuity in the children’s learning.
This part-part time programme starts from Feburary 2016 in South PuDong Road Campus.
Our playgroup program is for children 10 to 24 months. The program is a family accompanied and operates once per week for an hour and half. Our principal and a mandarin teacher work alongside families during this special time.
We provide children with many provocations, or invitations to explore. Families are encouraged to follow their child through the morning and take the lead from the child. The opportunities we provide are designed specifically for children of this age and many are sensory in nature to encourage children to make connections in their world through inquiry.
Our Discoverer Program is for children aged from 18 months to 2,5 years of age. The program is available to families as a half day or full day program. When this class is at capacity, fully qualified expatriate core teacher and mandarin teacher collaboratively plan and implement the children’s learning program. The core teacher will have extensive experience with young children and their families and an internationally recognised Early Childhood Education degree. We also have two associate teachers in this room to ensure the children are safe, cared for and loved.
As children and their families begin to settle into Pre-School life, teachers facilitate a developmentally appropriate program. The program provides children with provocations or invitations to explore and research through inquiry, as they work together to make new discoveries and problem solve.
Our holistic curriculum integrates the intellectual, emotional, physical, social and creative capacities as we engage the ‘whole child’. Book reading, group activities and individual learning with various on-going projects are all involved in this programme.
Children who have joined our Discoverer Programme will have the Pre-requisite to enter Nursery One to continue their learning journey. Through our Inqurie.Think.Learn programme inspired by Ragio Emila, Young children at EtonHouse are respected as competent thinkers and communicators who are offered many opportunities to engage with a wide range of materials and resources to extend and challenge their thinking. Our curriculum invites children to explore, discover, hypothesize, predict, problem solve, construct and document their deepening understandings of the world in which we live. Our approach acknowledges the significance of socio-cultural theory in that children learn via quality interactions and relationships with people, places and things.
Our Explorer program provides many opportunities for children to move as they begin to realise how mobile they are and as such being outside is an important part of the program. Our staff ensure that there are many predictable routines in place in these classrooms as many two year olds require predictability in order to feel secure. The program provides children with many sensory and language inquiries as they begin to develop their vocabulary.
Our Investigator program is for children who are three to four years of age. The program is available to families as a full day program. When this class is at capacity, a core teacher and mandarin teacher collaboratively plan and implement the children’s learning program. The core teacher will have extensive experience with young children and their families and an internationally recognised Early Childhood Education degree. We also have one associate teachers in this room to ensure the children are safe, cared for and loved.
Our Investigator program focuses on children forming strong relationships with one another, materials and the world around them. Due to the children’s expanding vocabulary many opportunities are provided for the children to expand their language knowledge in English and Mandarin. There are many opportunities for children to expand their creativity and knowledge of the world through the provocations staff present. Pre-literacy and numeracy experiences are explored through inquiry and research based projects.
Our Kindergarten program is for children who are four to five years of age. The program is available to families as full days. When this class is at capacity, a core teacher and mandarin teacher collaboratively plan and implement the children’s learning experiences. The core teacher will have extensive experience with young children and their families and an internationally recognised Early Childhood Education degree. We also have one associate teacher in this room to ensure the children are safe, cared for and loved.
Our Kindergarten program focuses on children discovering the joy and patterns of literacy and numeracy building on the foundations of their explorations in Nursery Two. Children are able to explore these areas through research and inquiry of phenomenon in their natural environment. We use this as a basis enabling children to engage in purposeful and meaningful literacy and numeracy events. We continue to encourage children in forming deep and lasting relationships, with their peers, adults and their environment.
EtonHouse Education Group is currently applying for candidacy to become an International Baccalaureate World School. This curriculum choice will enable children to make a seamless transition from our play and inquiry-based pre-school programmes into a primary school that also has inquiry, research and play at its heart. Inquiries will also emphasise children’s learning and using literacy and numeracy in meaningful contexts ensuring they develop these essential skills.
Our primary school will be staffed by highly qualified native English speaking teachers. Instruction will be in English for most of the day with children receiving a one-hour Mandarin programme each day. Children will have access to research laboratories and studios which will extend their thinking and inquiries. Extra curricular activities will be offered.
